Sabbath Revisited
I was preparing for a campus ministry out west by getting rid of stuff my wife had dragged around for years. I came across an old book from 1888 that I’d never bothered to read and was all set to donate it to a second hand store. Giving it a quick look, I realized it contained some really amazing Christian sketches. Then, an article on the Sabbath caught my eye. That hooked me, and before long I found there to be 13 really good Bible readings related to the Sabbath.
I’m presenting these readings here for anyone who is grieved over how Satan has acculturated us into diminishing one Commandment after another through these many centuries, until those stone tablets have become just an icon.
Are all of the 10 Commandments for all peoples and for all times? Or are we down to just nine, or perhaps 8, or 7, or maybe even just 1?
Maybe it is no longer our schoolmaster on sin. Perhaps sin and truth are relative like so much that is touted around us.
The readings will pop up in a new tab and you can save them as PDF files for a future reading or to pass on. They are all ordered according to their position in the book from front to back.
Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. Jeremiah 6:16
