Statement of Faith
There are a lot of good belief or statement of faith pages on the internet, that are very well done and for which I find it hard to disagree. The parts I might disagree are usually a bit peripheral to me, although some statements might produce a passionate response from others. For example: many churches are fractured along the lines of the question of predestination or the type of beverage to drink for communion. Both have a variety of scripture to support their view. In actuality, very few members of a church organization actually know their own organization’s theological position.
Those obedient to God’s word just follow what the Lord says without a whole lot of thought to the theological distinctions. Only the theologically astute tend to get into battles that could be divisive. A true church or fellowship should have no division but encourage discussions from those who hold a variety of theological positions. These groupings are the most dynamic and engaging, forcing almost everyone to put their thinking caps on and delve into the scriptures. All the divided groups end up with little variation on perspective and their meetings end up looking look more like the last legs of a sleepover.
One of the articles on this website covers the dulling effect that occurs when trying to pigeonhole others and how doing that shuts down dialogue and the ability to exhort one another as commanded by the Lord through his apostles.
Our statement of faith is basically what is demonstrated by the content on this website that is awash with scripture. Virtually every scripture reference is highlighted within the article or will pop up when hovering over the scripture. This is done with the hope of freeing everyone to keep focused on the thought at hand, while adhering to the Lord’s very word as the final authority.
With this in mind, we welcome constructive comments from our readers.
