Suicide: An Eternity of Horrors

Anyone who is seriously thinking about or planning on committing suicide, please consider the following. Whatever horror might be driving you to commit suicide is nothing compared to what lies on the other side. The horror will be multiplied and last forever and ever. Suicide is not an escape; rather, it will eternally imprison you within that very horror you hope to escape.

Our culture tries to soften death with the lie that it is always so much better on the other side: no more worries, no pain, no suffering, no heartache, and the list goes on and on. Hollywood, almost always, exacerbates this false image.

Darwinist thinking has played a huge part by pushing so many into believing they are nothing but meaningless atoms. By their thinking, suicide merely throws you into the abyss of nothingness as  you just zap out of existence. But to actually gamble with “relief for the moment” when there is even the slightest possibility of magnified pain throughout eternity is madness.

In the Bible, God told the Apostle Paul when he was in terrible pain:

“My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” To which Paul responded: “Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.“ II Corinthians 12:9

When surrendered to a God, who loves you so much that he died for you, there is nothing in this world that cannot be overcome. No matter how bad things are, God can give you a “peace that passeth all understanding.”

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Those who stop fighting against God will never be bound by the things of this life. We will expand and grow in ways unimaginable throughout eternity. But those who keep fighting God, who shoulder their own fears and horrors to the point of committing suicide, will never grow beyond this world. They will be forever imprisoned by the anguish and heartache that has made life so horrific that they can only see suicide as their only option.

Even if the rest of your life looks hopeless and all downhill, what would those years or decades compare to living that hopelessness for 10,000  years,  or a million years? You are at this drastic point for a reason. God enables you to kill yourself and eternally live in your box of horrors. But, he also enables you to step into an eternity that is so wonderful that all the pain and misery this world can give swiftly drifts away as if they were nothing at all.

How can this all happen if you don’t have a clue about God or the Bible? It’s so simple that a child can understand. Just stop fighting against God who created you and loves you far beyond an infinity of inquiry. Rest upon God’s work and he will take it from there because he has always been drawing you to himself. He just never forces anyone and lets us use our free will to fight against his wonderful works. But once you stop your fight against God, then he will be your guide and strength. Then you will find a true purpose, not just for this life, but for a life that leads to a wondrous eternity.
